HOUSE D: An elegant contemporary home designed by L2C ARQUITETURA, which combines volumetric simplicity with structural complexity. With open spaces, flowing connections between indoors and outdoors, and a panoramic view over the city of Braga, the house offers a welcoming and functional environment for a modern family.

House D, designed for a family of five, hides its structural complexity through its volumetric simplicity. Large blocks positioned on the highest part of the land organize the internal and external spaces thanks to their arrangement and orientation. In this way, the house opens to the outside through the spaces generated between them, while protecting the inside from the unimportant. With a view over the city of Braga, Casa D opens onto the landscape and faces south/west from the outdoor and indoor leisure areas. If, on the one hand, the horizontally positioned blocks establish a relationship with the surrounding environment, extending the interior spaces towards the outside, on the other hand, the entrance is signaled by one of these vertically positioned blocks which invites us to its internal and at the same time connects the two floors of the house.

The spaces have been organized taking into account their function. The private spaces are located on the upper floor, while the social and service spaces are located on the lower floor, where all the large windows can be opened to create a unique space.

Casa D represents an example of contemporary architecture that seeks to combine functionality with aesthetics. Its volumetric simplicity hides a structural complexity that allows for the creation of open spaces and fluid connections between environments. The arrangement of the blocks on the highest part of the land allows the house to benefit from a panoramic view of the city, creating a direct connection with the outside.

The architecture of Casa D is characterized by a strong interaction between the internal and external spaces. The open spaces generated between the blocks allow natural light to penetrate deeply inside the house, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The large windows in the social and service area allow you to fully enjoy the surrounding landscape and make the most of the sunlight.

The main entrance, signaled by one of the vertical blocks, creates a focal point within the architectural composition. This vertical element not only invites the inhabitants and visitors to enter, but also acts as a link between the two floors of the house. The staircase leading to the upper floor develops around this vertical block, creating an interesting play of light and shadow along the way.

In the distribution of spaces, particular attention has been given to privacy. The private rooms, such as the bedrooms, are located on the upper floor, away from the social and service areas, which are located on the lower floor. This allows the inhabitants to enjoy tranquility and privacy in their private areas, while the social areas offer a welcoming and shared environment for entertaining guests and spending time with the family.

Casa D also stands out for its relationship with its surroundings. The horizontally placed blocks blend harmoniously into the landscape, extending the interior spaces outwards. The external areas, such as terraces and gardens, have been designed to allow the inhabitants to fully enjoy the beauty of the place and spend relaxing moments in the open air.
