An exceptional building renovation, designed by Ren Ito Arq, transforms two ruined buildings into a detached single-family home, A Casa do Campo Lindo. A harmonious fusion between ancient and contemporary, distinct volumes and a welcoming atmosphere.

The Casa do Campo Lindo, designed by the architectural firm Ren Ito Arq, represents a surprising example of how it is possible to transform two ruined buildings into a splendid detached single-family house. The main objective of the project was to unite and restore these two pre-existing buildings, creating an L-shaped volume that surrounds an enchanting outdoor space dominated by a magnificent swimming pool.

What makes this house unique is the clear distinction between the common and private spaces, obtained through the definition of the volumes and the interior design. The common area, which includes the kitchen, living room, gym and a multipurpose room, has an open and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its layout on one floor. This large and airy space encourages interaction and socialization between family members, creating a convivial environment.

On the other hand, the private spaces, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, are located in a tower with three independent floors. This arrangement allows for greater privacy and tranquility within the house, guaranteeing the inhabitants a place of rest and relaxation. A corridor elegantly connects the tower to the other spaces, creating a harmonious and fluid flow between the different areas of the house.

One of the distinctive elements of this house is the roof of the open space, designed with the concept of "umbrellas". These "umbrellas" delicately delimit each area, creating a feeling of intimacy and separation, while maintaining the idea of a united and connected environment. Furthermore, the indirect lighting in the shape of an umbrella structure helps to reinforce this architectural concept, diffusing a soft and welcoming light that gives a sense of well-being to the surrounding spaces.

The Casa do Campo Lindo represents a real example of the renovation and recovery of ruined buildings, transforming them into a modern and comfortable home. Ren Ito Arq's project has been able to harmoniously combine the ancient and the contemporary, creating a house that fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. This unique residence bears witness to the creativity and architectural vision of those who, through their work, can transform the elements of decay into housing works of art.
