During Euroluce 2023, the brand born from the creativity of the unforgettable designer Ingo Maurer proudly presented its latest creations, including Signature, a suspension lamp that embodies freedom of expression, inviting each person to freely "draw" their own signature bright in the surrounding space.
Signature by Ingo Maurer is a unique suspension lamp that rises in space like a three-dimensional drawing, subtle and delicate like an autographed signature. The name itself derives from this peculiarity.
The project is inspired by the spontaneous movement of a falling rope and consists of a flexible black cable, which can be freely shaped in the air, bent into soft curves or form circles, fixed to the elastic circular structure, also black in color . This combination of elements allows you to create unique geometries every time. At the end of the cable is the anodized aluminum lampshade, with the possibility of directing the light upwards or downwards. The lampshade, with a discreet shape, is designed to leave the center of attention to the suspended weave created by the movements of the cable. From every angle, a surprising effect can be seen: the perception of the shape changes, from a cone to an inclined rectangle. Thanks to its asymmetry and lightness, the lampshade enhances Signature's intrinsic creativity, providing directional light through a GU10 bulb.

The versatility of Signature also extends to the possibility of combining several lamps in a group, creating a large luminous cloud. With the use of multiple cables, structures and lampshades, Signature reinvents itself with each composition, offering absolute creative freedom to customers. Available both as a single piece and in sets of three, each Signature lamp is accompanied by a brochure with suggestions on how to best design it, with no limits to the imagination: you can create random and messy weaves or more symmetrical configurations thanks to the supplied clips, which allow you to position the cable at any point of the structure, as you like.
Ingo Maurer's design team developed Signature using a black elastic rod, which resembles the function of an instant tent. When bent, the rod tends to split in two and turn into a large circle. This element of tension is masterfully used by Ingo Maurer to create soft and natural curves, which give the impression that the material itself is continuously expanding, giving the lamp a flowing and harmonious appearance.
Signature was presented during Euroluce and the FuoriSalone, in the evocative setting of theinstallation at Porta Nuova toll booths 11-12. Thanks to this lamp, the customer becomes the true creator of an exclusive design object, unique each time. As with the entire Ingo Maurer collection, each phase of the Signature production process is managed directly, from conception to creation, at the Aubing headquarters, just outside Munich.
