California Dream Week is a contest focused on sustainability, which rewards students from California high schools with appropriate scholarships. In the first two editions, scholarships totaling $ 8450 were awarded and over $ 2000 were donated to schools. The project is non-profit and is fully funded by private donations and sponsors. Students were invited to submit their green projects in the following categories: Architecture & Design, Transportation and Product Complemints.
At the end of the selection, the winning ideas were shared with international designers, who were asked to interpret the projects of the winning students according to their experience. Among these, Roberto Paoli, Lorenzo Palmeri and Ilaria Marelli respectively interpreted the ideas proposed for a sustainable future by Cristina Calva (Orland, CA - first place Architecture & Design), Mika Matsuko (Piedmont, CA - first place Product Compliments), and the group composed by Ariel Rao, Beatrice Goh, Jake Caccamo, Chloe Merriam and Thomas Koyama (Mountain View, CA - honorable mention Architecture & Design).
