House in Santa Marinha: Innovative design by Helder da Rocha Arquitectos creates a unique experience across its three entrances. With a multi-level layout and an internal courtyard, the house harmoniously integrates into the surrounding landscape.

The house designed by the Helder da Rocha Arquitectos architecture studio in Santa Marinha stands out for its unique characteristics. One of the strengths of the project is the three different entrances, which add a touch of originality to the structure. The architect himself admits that this is a particularly interesting challenge, as the design of the entrance is usually one of the most enjoyable aspects of the creative process. Furthermore, the surrounding land has been carefully designed to blend in seamlessly with the building.

The construction of this house was limited by the existing urban subdivision, which defined the location, the distances and the number of floors allowed. The area to work on was a rectangle measuring 10 meters by 14 meters, to be distributed over two floors. However, the client wanted to avoid building an excessively large area. The solution proposed by the architect was to create a patio facing south, in order to reduce the effective construction area, while at the same time lighting and ventilating the house.

In detail, the ground floor of the house houses the rooms, and here is one of the entrances. On the lower floor, with respect to the ground, there are the common areas open onto the surrounding landscape and the internal courtyard. On this level there are two further entrances, one through the courtyard and the other directly from the living room. The presence of multiple access points may seem unusual, but in this specific case it was a winning choice. The architect admits that, although it is usually not recommended to have multiple entrances, in this specific situation it proved to be a valid choice. Indeed, the arrangement of the entrances inside the house creates a sense of mystery and curiosity. Guests don't even know where to start exploring, as it's not immediately obvious which is the main entrance.

The house designed by Helder da Rocha Arquitectos in Santa Marinha does more than just create an intriguing experience through its multiple entrances. Its multi-level layout, with the rooms on the ground floor and the common areas on the lower level, creates a dynamic and spatial fluidity within the building. Furthermore, the presence of the internal courtyard, open onto the surrounding landscape, gives a feeling of connection with the outside and allows for the enjoyment of natural light and ventilation.

The architect skilfully integrated the design of the house with the client's needs and the limitations of the construction area. The decision to open a patio to the south made it possible to reduce the effective construction area, without compromising the lighting and ventilation of the interior spaces. This is just one of the examples of how Helder da Rocha Arquitectos has managed to find innovative and creative solutions to address design challenges.

In conclusion, the house designed by Helder da Rocha Arquitectos in Santa Marinha stands out for its originality and its ability to surprise. The three different entrances, the multi-level arrangement and the integration with the surrounding landscape create a unique experience for inhabitants and visitors. The architect managed to overcome the limitations imposed by the urban subdivision, offering the client an extraordinary and functional architectural solution. This home is an excellent example of how design and architecture can come together to create unique and exciting living spaces.
