The Netherlands has always had to deal with the oddities of water, so much so that in recent years there has been an increase in collective housing projects on the water, they have thought of floating houses, restaurants and hotels to solve the needs of higher population density in this country. They share many characteristics with the terrestrial urban design and is complete with piers that connect them as if they were roads. The architects Architectenbureau Marlies Rohmer they focused on building them; the houseboats are supported by submerged concrete “tanks”, which are based on a light steel support structure. This structure is also the cladding of each house. Its configuration is variable through a designed pre-expansion package, which includes sun protection, garages, floating terraces, awnings, etc. All these elements can be easily connected to the skeleton of the structure.
