An apartment in the Highvill Ishim residential complex near Presidential Park and the Palace of Peace and Accord. 130 square meters of space, aesthetics, light for a family of four. The design is based on the principles of Asian minimalism and gives the impression of an open space even with low ceilings.

The clients lived in this apartment for two years, then turned to the design studio on recommendation. They felt the lack of air: low 2,8 meter ceilings and a modest dressing room completed the picture.

The interior design, although laconic, does not appear boring. Overlays and volume obtained through shapes and materials. The central cube-shaped element extends from the living, dining and kitchen areas. Important in size, but not in perception: the wooden finish is responsible for the laconic shape and warm texture.

“The main color is white, accompanied by warm woody tones. The padding of upholstered furniture in terms of scale and texture is similar to curtains, this creates an enveloping atmosphere in the room. The decorative elements are a niche in the living room wall and a separate section in the furniture frame in the dining area. They are finished with terrazzo texture porcelain stoneware”, – say Sergey Bekmukhanbetov and Rustam Minnekhanov, heads of the design studio Kvadrat architects.

To increase space, the owners' bedroom was also renovated. The changes affected the changing room and filing systems. All clients' belongings are now fully accommodated in a 6-metre open wardrobe and hidden wardrobes located directly in the bedroom. Reconsidering the space allowed to increase the bathroom area – there is a large wardrobe for storing bathroom accessories.

Lightness and tranquility fill the visual model, and the ethereal notes of Asia give the space not only peace, but also energy.

The team of the design studio Kvadrat architects creates not just an interior, but a place of power where clients can discover their spiritual, mental and physical potential. They can reflect and understand the turmoil of what is happening, find inspiration to conquer new heights here. They get a timeless space that will become a piece of their cultural heritage and a significant part of their family or business history.
