Milan Design Week 2023 is approaching and cc-tapis offers us a preview of its new carpet collection designed by Formafantasma.
The collaboration between the designer duo and the Italian company began during the pandemic period, when the two saw some images of the cc-tapis production process in which random colors and words are knotted in the negative space of the carpet, intended as a blank canvas for artisans to express themselves freely.
The collection consists of a series of rectangular carpets, whose negative areas are not eliminated, but become a point of interaction between the designer and the manufacturer. This creates a sort of visual dialogue, where the designers and craftsmen work together to create a unique texture of colors and shapes.
