Milan Design Week 2023 is approaching and Marimekko, the Finnish brand that operates in both the fashion and design sectors, is launching a new tableware collection with original works of art by the German artist Sabine Finkenauer, who lives in Barcelona, directly inspired by Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
Using simple subjects and forms, Finkenauer's artworks create a mix of representational and abstract expressions based on repetition and embellish some of the brand's most iconic products. In line with the concept of prêt-à-porter, the Marimekko capsule collection draws inspiration from French modernism and is presented in a unique installation at the Galleria Il Milione.
The new tableware line features a wide range of products, including plates, glasses, cups and bowls, made with high-quality materials and enriched by the artwork of Sabine Finkenauer. Her artworks are inspired by nature, the city and geometric shapes, creating a perfect marriage between art and functional design.
Furthermore, the installation at the Galleria Il Milione was conceived as an immersive and engaging experience for visitors, with the aim of giving them a unique experience through the exploration of the works of art and products of the collection .
