ADI renews its collaboration with Cersaie 2023 – the most important world event for ceramics and bathroom furnishings, together with architecture and design – which takes place at the Bologna Fair from 25 to 29 September 2023 with the presence of over 600 exhibitors from 25 countries.
The collaboration, which has been active for about ten years, is promoted by ADI as part of its fundamental mission: the cultural and economic affirmation of industrial design for a responsible and sustainable development of everyone's living conditions. This is why ADI enhances the quality of the products exhibited at Cersaie 2023 through two awards.
The first acknowledgment is attributed to Italian products belonging to the ceramic and bathroom furnishing sectors. The jury of the 9th edition of the ADI Ceramics and Bathroom Design Award – composed of Silvia Stanzani (designer), Oscar G. Colli (co-founder of the magazine Il Bagno oggi e domani), Carlo Branzaglia (Design Management and Education) and Valentina Downey (president of ADI Emilia-Romagna) – selects among the products on display those that best combine innovation and design quality.
The ADI Booth Design Award – now in its 4th edition – was created to enhance exhibition stands. A commission of experts, made up of Cecilia Bione (Bologna Academy of Fine Arts), Pierluigi Molteni (architect and professor of Advanced Design) and Wladimiro Bendandi (ADI Emilia-Romagna), selects from the Cersaie 2023 stands those that best promote the product and better communicate the identity and value of the company.
The products and installations identified by the two commissions are candidates for pre-selection for the 2023 edition of the ADI Design Index, the yearbook that brings together the best Italian design in each product category, selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory in view of the next edition of the Compasso d'Oro ADI, the most famous recognition of Italian design. The pre-selection guarantees the passage of the first selection phase and the presentation of the products directly to the Thematic Commissions, which are entrusted with a further selection phase.
The awards will be presented in a ceremony on Wednesday 27 September 2023, at 17.00 pm, in Hall 37 of Cersaie.
