Euroluce 2023 saw the presentation of an innovative suspension lamp called pic-a-stic, designed by Ingo Maurer. This new creation surprises with its playfulness and offers a personalized lighting experience.

The pic-a-stic lamp is a play of light inspired by the Shanghai or Mikado, as its name suggests. Characterized by over 50 wooden sticks included in the assembly kit, this lamp offers the possibility of freely arranging them around the central luminous body, both transversely and parallelly, supported by an elastic ring in black rubber.

The particularity of pic-a-stic lies in its versatility. Just follow a few simple steps to give life to an ever-changing design object. Depending on the arrangement of the sticks, the lamp takes on different shapes. For example, moving the sticks up increases the volume of the lamp, creating a unique visual effect.

The lamp is available in two color variants. The first, more rigorous, has black and white sticks with the exception of two red sticks. This variant fits perfectly into minimalist interiors. The second, more lively variant is characterized by red and blue sticks that stand out in the space and become the central element of the lamp.

Pic-a-stic was presented both at Euroluce and at the FuoriSalone, in a scenographic installation at Caselli 11-12 in Porta Nuova. This lamp was created in collaboration with the German creative Andreas Walther. It represents a tribute to the casual style of Ingo Maurer, enriching his collection of handmade lights that manage to combine playfulness and poetry in an original way.

“At Ingo Maurer we are always on the lookout for creative ideas and projects with an extraordinary character, to develop new one-of-a-kind or series-produced pieces,” says Axel Schmid, Head of Design. “Our collections, always the result of teamwork, arise from the constant and free creative exploration of the internal design team as well as from discussions with independent designers”.

All phases of the Ingo Maurer lamp creation process are managed directly, from conception to production, at their headquarters in Aubing, just outside Munich. This approach makes it possible to maintain high quality standards and to create unique pieces that convey the passion and innovation typical of the Ingo Maurer brand.

Pic-a-stic presents itself as a unique lighting solution of its kind, which combines functionality with creativity. This suspension lamp represents a distinctive design element to illuminate and decorate living spaces in an original and personalized way.
