Creativity that draws on the past by covering it with an underground soul: Catuma launches the “Thinking” collection A series of glasses with vintage shapes enriched by precious details.

Brilliant ideas emerge by unhinging clichés, deconstructing preconceptions and reworking them according to new points of view. It is precisely this philosophy that inspires the new Catuma collection, “Thinking”, a tribute to creative, generative, exploratory, illogical and irrational thinking, which allows the creation of innovative solutions and ideas. There is no denial or analysis, only stimuli. These "non-rules" are the ones that lead the Catuma staff to an uninterrupted exploration, which gives rise to collections of sunglasses and eyeglasses with an avant-garde style.

New ideas are always the result of ancient elements scattered in our memory that mix with the new, contaminating each other and giving life to creative solutions. In the “Thinking” collection we find this fusion between tradition and innovation, between vintage and futuristic, a line of eyewear that excites through its retro but extremely glamorous soul. In fact, “Thinking” is the result of Catuma's ongoing research, which led the brand's designers to visit an old, abandoned Italian eyewear manufacturer. Within this company, the creative department, fascinated by the Italian craftsmanship, by the still current shapes of the models that made the history of eyewear in the years in which beat and punk went crazy, decided to borrow some original frames, revisiting them. The original slabs of the time were also recovered, in which the models of the new collection came to life, completely in acetate, but with details of extraordinary beauty. For these reasons, the collection will not be replicable.

Blatantly square shapes that alternate with more graceful frames, with curved lines, but enriched by geometric details that give them an extremely glam rock look. The “Thinking” collection is characterized by enchanting and impressive acetate frames that refer to the 80s, made unique by material details and 70s patterns. Models characterized by the front in full, saturated colors, such as black and magenta, contrasting with the optical inner part; multicolor or marbled striped effects. And again: refined degradé and textures that evoke the mélange and pixelated fabric effect. All models show on the left temple, the hallmark of the brand, the U of Catuma in enamel.

The new series of glasses also brings an absolute novelty in the field of lenses. In fact, Catuma applies a mat metallic treatment externally, with an unprecedented matte finish, enriched by metallic flashes; internally instead, the lenses are embellished with a blue anti-reflective treatment.

Catuma brings made in Italy quality to the world, capable of perfectly combining craftsmanship and innovation.
