Interior designer Nikita Bondar talks about the project:

We have been friends with the owner of this apartment for many years: he is a punctual and disciplined person, always full of work commitments. The family was expecting their fourth child, so a new, more spacious home became a necessity.

One of the owners' main wishes was to live in harmony with nature while being in the metropolis. In the end we managed to find a balance between the external environment and the internal space and create the desired visual code.

Distribution of spaces

Every detail has been well thought out in the 200 m² of surface. For example, the large living room is a welcoming place for the whole family, with a piano for musical evenings. The instrument was moved from the old apartment and played by both adults and children. In general, the emotional accents of this interior have become musical instruments, a symbol of family heritage. Each of them was given a special place.

The kitchen is separated from the living room by swinging doors, which can be closed to hide the work area from view. The corridor houses a home library, which contains many interesting publications. The kids' room has a mezzanine, which serves as a play space. Downstairs there are two beds and a desk, but with two workstations, so the kids don't get interrupted while studying. The girls' room is delicate and airy, with a space not overloaded with objects, which emphasizes the elegance of lines and shapes. Each of the children's bedrooms has its own separate bathroom with all the necessary amenities. From the master bedroom window you have a view of the city and a busy street. The client has lived in Miami for a long time, so he appreciates the evening energy of a big city with the flow of traffic and intense movement. This decision is balanced by a tranquil living room that overlooks a tranquil courtyard and landscape.

Interior mood

The concept of the project, "the balance of functions and emotions", was immediately in line with the inner world of the family. The client's spouse works in the creative music industry, her pace of life brings bright colors to her husband's rational life, inculcating a love of both music and discipline in children.

Furniture and finishing materials

To create a comfortable environment for children, the owners chose practical finishing materials. Almost all walls have been painted, which allows the option to update the color without significant building work if necessary.

The furniture was tailor-made according to my drawings: we worked on each element, taking precise measurements, up to the number of books or albums that would fit on a specific shelf.

Following the idea of ecology and harmonious connection with nature, we have selected natural materials in the color palette of the external landscape. The eco theme is also supported by the choice of a high-quality ventilation system, a complex reverse osmosis water filter system and a humidification system.

In my design work, ergonomics and a subtle understanding of how comfortable the space will be for a person, as well as whether all routes throughout the apartment are safe for children, are very important to me. The enthusiastic reaction of the children, who saw their new apartment for the first time, also proved to be very valuable. When you see such lively and genuine interest and admiration in the eyes of a child, it makes you want to develop, move forward with even more energy and create the best for the next generation – such an open and sincere generation.
