Hangar Design Group together with the historic Vistosi glassworks chooses Brera to present the special edition of “Peggy” lamps from the Futura collection. A capsule collection with a modernist flavor.
The collective of designers and the well-known Venetian lighting brand will preview a new lighting system at Fuorisalone 2014, a real capsule collection designed by Hangar Design Group for Vistosi. Clearly modernist-inspired, the special “Peggy” edition of the Futura collection is a family of pendant lamps in
hand-made glossy white blown glass and lead-colored glossy metal, which interprets the chromatic polarity of black & white with the lightness of a rational and elegant sign.
In the most important declination, almost two meters long, “Peggy” arranges its nine lighting bodies in an aerial and harmonious construction that gives the environment a light that is both diffused and direct at the same time. The project comes to life from the consolidated relationship between Hangar Design Group and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. With an impressive installation, the “Peggy” lighting system will in fact illuminate the Peggy Guggenheim Cafè.
Through the essential reflection on the balance between modernist vision and poetic inspiration contained in its forms, the collection was born from a tribute to Peggy Guggenheim and her legacy preciously preserved in the rooms of her Venetian palace.
Peggy / FUTURE
The special edition "Peggy" of the Futura collection interprets the polarity of black and white with the lightness of a rational and elegant sign. Available in versions with one, two or three lighting bodies, it blends the lightness of white blown glass with the decisive line of the lead-effect black metal structure in an aerial and harmonious construction. In the most important version, the arrangement of the spheres draws a perfect balance between suspended solids and voids and imposes itself as the central pivot of the illuminated space, thanks also to its size that reaches almost two meters in length.
