New Era Headquarters Square in Jinan is set to become a landmark in the city, thanks to the intelligent design and humanistic approach of AND Studio, an architecture firm with offices in Paris and Shanghai. This major multipurpose center and urban park, located in the Jinan Free Trade Pilot Zone, has the ambitious goal of improving the quality of life of its users and providing a more comfortable and welcoming working environment.
The project was conceived along a central axis, flanked by an extraordinary mantle of vegetation which gives it the appearance of a "green axe". This internal park, beautifully integrated into the surrounding context, acts as a meeting point for the entire neighborhood, creating an environment of sharing and connection.
The layout of the architectural volumes has been studied to respond to people's needs through a functional logic. Particular attention has been paid to reducing energy consumption, thanks to the targeted application of energy-saving technologies. This translates not only into an environmental advantage, but also into a more comfortable and sustainable work environment, promoting employee well-being and productivity.
The complex includes 22 buildings, among which an imposing 180-metre-high skyscraper stands out, contributing to a total area of 600,520 square metres. Within the office campus, various use functions are found, including offices (378,640 square meters), hotels (68,100 square meters), apartments (114,900 square meters), and retail space (21,000 square meters).
However, the success of this extraordinary project would not have been possible without the brilliant mind and passion of the founders of AND Studio, Duccio Cardelli and Ning Wang. Fifteen years ago, their dream of creating a place of connection and exchange, where architecture reflected the social and cultural values of its time, was just a sketch made in a Parisian café. After gaining invaluable experience working with the renowned architect Christian de Portzamparc, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 1990, they founded Studio AND in Paris, followed shortly after by the office in Shanghai.
Since then, the AND Studio team has continued to grow, expanding its experience through projects around the world and collaborations with international and local experts. The Studio's design philosophy is humanity-centered, with a strong focus on connectedness between people, environmental sustainability, and general well-being.
