Fuorisalone 2023 is upon us and there are many new things coming for art and design lovers. One of these is the Nuova Pompei collection, presented by Misha and designed by Vito Nesta. This new collection evokes the Italian style of the past, with an eye to the present, through decorations inspired by the ancient city of Pompeii.

The New Pompeii collection features four one-of-a-kind wallpapers, all inspired by the ancient city. The decorations include garlands, flowering fruit trees, mosaics and marbles, and are enriched with hand-painted details. These details give an artisanal excellence to Misha's production.

Before the presentation of the complete collection, Misha previewed his new creation with the Grotesque Architecture pattern. This motif was taken from the wall decorations of ancient Pompeii and reinterpreted by Vito Nesta according to his artistic vision. The decorations are composed of nineteenth-century designs of jewels, with central gems that give small color accents to the monochrome background. These decorations are interspersed with color boxes, in which miniatures of very colorful birds can be glimpsed.

Vito Nesta has stated that his artistic world is very similar to Misha's DNA and research, and that both are attracted by the refined exotic taste of Chinoiserie, by the figurative suggestions of Japanese art and by the sense of adventure evoked by the Grand Tour. Furthermore, they both appreciate the fact that decorum is not just an ornament but a means to tell a story.

The Nuova Pompei collection will be exhibited from 14 to 23 April 2023 in a private residence in Via Canova 7, a few steps from the Milan Triennale and the Arco della Pace. Misha will be present at the Fuorisalone with a spectacular scenography, which will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the idea behind the new collection and in the artisan experience of its production.

In conclusion, the New Pompeii collection by Misha and Vito Nesta represents a journey between past and present, between near and distant cultures, which marks a return to the origins. The evocation of the ancient city of Pompeii through Misha's wallpapers is a tribute to the beauty and history of a civilization that has laid the foundations of our aesthetic culture.
