Geo Luz & Cerâmica, an innovative Brazilian brand in the lighting sector, and Maurício Arruda present a new collection of handcrafted lamps during Milan Design Week. The Litoral collection, the result of the partnership between the brand and the designer, is inspired by the natural beauty of Brazilian beaches and the tradition of ceramic table lamps with fabric lampshades from the 80s.
The brand will exhibit its novelties at the major exhibition organized by Apex-Brasil, as part of the Interni Design Re-Evolution event, from 17 to 26 April, at the University of Milan.
The new line of lamps is characterized by the majesty of ceramics, accurate craftsmanship, environmentally friendly technology and original shapes. Each piece is handcrafted and is never the same, which makes it unique even if it is part of a series.
The Litoral collection is made up of five models named after some of the most beautiful beaches on the Brazilian coast: Guarujá, Santos, Paraty, Búzios and Guaratuba. The lamps are available in three different sizes and four color options: coffee, terracotta, raw and cappuccino.
The architect Maurício Arruda says that the line was born from the need to find products of this kind for his projects, lighting objects with a more vintage DNA. “And so a collection with organic shapes, impactful visuals and strong tactile appeal was born, thanks to the quality and texture of the ceramic made in different shades and the fabric lampshades of the same shade“, declares the designer Maurício D'Ávila, founder and director of Geo Luz & Cerâmica.
In addition to the Litoral, Geo Luz & Cerâmica will also present the Venezia floor lamp, from the Italia line, now an icon of lighting in Brazil. With its modern conical lampshade, it is a true illuminated sculpture that enchants and offers the perfect reflection of light on the ceramic.
Ceramic, as Maurício D'Ávila explains, is one of the most ecological materials ever, since it comes from the earth and can return to the earth without polluting. Geo Luz & Cerâmica offers various lighting solutions for the interior and exterior of a home and has taken on a prominent position in high-design interior decoration, with products acclaimed all over the world.
Milan Design Week will be the international springboard for the Litoral and Venice collection, the new handmade lamps with a retro flavor by Geo Luz & Cerâmica and Maurício Arruda.
