Cult goods | One step from Degas: Merchandising (Degas jewels) for publisher Skira it has been modified: 2012-10-19 di Degas

Cult goods, known by Alessandra Scarfò Design of Plexiglas and silver jewelry brand, pays homage to Degas! The ad hoc forms designed for temporary exhibitions and commissioned by the publisher Skira resume a theme so dear to Degas: the dance.

It is a subject that will indelibly mark Degas' career. He was admired by those dancers who illuminated the stage, they were, for him, like stars from which the gaze could not detach. He painted them while they were getting ready, behind the scenes and during their performances. Degas went there to best represent the smallest details and that is why his paintings are so evocative.

"Degas-Masterpieces of the Orsay Museum": is the title of the exhibition, inaugurated on October 17 (and on stage until January 27, 2013) in Turin, at the building of the Promoter of Fine Arts, an ideal setting for discovering Degas and its role in Impressionism. The central themes of the artist's work are the landscape, the female nude, horses and the famous dancers, including pastels, oil and sculptures. The exhibition is organized by Skira editore, in collaboration with the Municipality of Turin, curated by Xavier Rey, curator at the Musée d'Orsay and Degas specialist.
