Nicole Valenti and Jacopo Candotti, give life in Florence to NJ interiors, a homemade laboratory of functional sculptures, objects of daily use that combine the practical aspect with the sculptural one.
Jacopo Candotti (Blozano 1982) and Nicole Valenti (Bolzano 1984) two young artists, friends of a lifetime, they decide to work together and create an unusual laboratory design and realization of "functional sculptures", ie everyday objects that combine l ' practical aspect to the sculptural. This year are the first collections of handles and knobs, the beginning of a journey that will open each year to new lines of objects, to new ideas and influences.
NJ interiors explores shapes and materials through the medium of sculpture, finding inspiration in the world with a fresh eye and curious can transform a tropical bird, the texture of a leaf, the shape of a particular branch in original and exclusive items.
The laboratory NJ interiors born at home, in the place we are most familiar, where we are left to draw and transform an emotion, a taste, a smell, in spontaneous and refined shapes. For us this project is an adventure in the universe of forms, a way of understanding and reinvent our surroundings, having the ability to imagine and make real a new world. Recently we have created a special line of handles made of different kinds of wood like walnut and wenge which follow the shape of the beak of a water bird including the polychrome finish we entirely hand-painted. A common object as the handle located in the homes of all of us can become an important piece of furniture where you express themes and unexpected forms.
Each object NJ interiors is unique and made entirely by hand in Italy: the aim is to provide customers with authentic and high quality products.
