CREATIVE CITIES is the theme chosen for the sixth edition of FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK - International Design Festival, taking place from the 27 31 May 2015.

Sustainability, smart city, eco-tourism and luxury design are the keywords of the festival that this initiative will invite the world's cities to Florence - the queen of beauty and style of Italian life.
Florence Design Week renews his Formats and creates new international routes, with the goal of creating an edition smart, in a virtuoso dialogue between cities that combine creativity in business, innovation, tradition and design to everyone's life.
In the sixth edition of the event dedicated to the culture of the city on a human scale, proposing an international city-break with a trip to discover the most creative destinations. We think of the city as culture, architecture, landscape and infrastructure; but also as a place of service, local products, communities, places of imagination, cradle of talent, rituals and traditions and human values. Where creativity is inspired, the design turns it into reality in the service of residents, tourists and professionals.
L 'event' was presented in an international scenario in late November 2014 in Shenzhen (China) - CITY OF DESIGN UNESCO - in the International Design Festival, along with IDSA (Industrial Design Society of America) and ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design), where a new center SINO-EUROPEAN and 'opened in November 2014, by FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK.

The Festival has gained in previous years the patronage of the President of the Republic and the recognition of two medals from the same, the high patronage of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the Ministry of Youth, under the patronage of Regione Toscana , Province of Florence, Florence City Council, City of Calenzano.
In 2014 it hosted with great success "Become a Awakener" competition sponsored by the European Commission in the context of the Generation Awake campaign, designed to disseminate the principles dell'upcycling and the reuse of materials among young creative. Among the major international collaborations are: SIDA Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association, Munich Creative Business Week, London Design Festival, Moscow Design Week, Design Week Saint-Petersburg, Russian Pavilion, Design Author, Art Tour International Magazine.
