"Take furniture to the next level": with this slogan, REHAU and Hettich launched a new challenge to the young designers from around the world for innovative design of the furniture of the future.
Now in its tenth year, with a total of 6.700 participants from over 60 countries, the biennial competition International Design Award 2015 is preparing to reward students of design, architecture, interior design, art and technology of wood that will best resolve the current requests from industry of Mobile, thanks to its technical and design skills.
The participants, who may enroll directly on the site www.internationaldesignaward.com by March 1 2015, are encouraged to think outside the box and unleash the imagination to design solutions for kitchens, offices, living rooms and bedrooms of tomorrow. An independent international jury, comprising renowned design experts, will select the three projects can resolve the conflict in the future between home and work, and will recognize the three talented winners a prize of € 2.000 each and a trip to Germany. Not only that: the same organizing companies will reward the best solution that takes into account both the range of Hettich products (hardware) and that of the polymer specialist REHAU, with the opportunity to take part in a workshop on the design with the employees of both important companies.
The 2015 edition will also see the active participation of the "public", through the opportunity to express their preference on solutions in the race and through an immersive online game similar to Pac-Man. Once The winners of the two awards, in fact, all the projects will be published on the website of the International Design Award for being voted by design enthusiasts and followers of the competition; the winner of this category will go a voucher of their choice worth € 500. The player with the ball voracious inspired by the video game of the years' 80 walk from the apartments to make room for new items, scoring the highest score, will be finally rewarded with great prizes.
