At the center of one of the most envied Italian landscapes in the world, an enterprising couple has fulfilled her dream: to live in the picturesque "garden of Europe". Thus, on the shores of Lake Garda, a charming villa has been created, studied in detail, full of external views and in which the presence of HI-MACS it is undoubtedly predominant.
“The clients wanted something unconventional, as long as the final result kept a contemporary appeal. HI-MACS® was perfect in this sense " explains Karl Dreer, construction manager and solid surface expert. "Even the owners call it 'The HI-MACS® House', and for good reason: in addition to the fabulous pool area, even the floors, most of the furnishings and the kitchen and bathroom elements are entirely made of solid surface ".
The house is a skilful combination of the classic stone architectures that dot the shores of Lake Garda, and the contemporary lines of the metropolitan houses. The result is a brilliant structure, linear and without excessive decorations, respectful of the surrounding panorama and built around large glass facades, which frame the picture of the lake to give value to the whole project.
The infinity pool is six meters long and has a panoramic glass outer wall. An ecological photovoltaic system on the roof contributes to maintaining the temperature, while an automatic meter determines the pH value and monitors the chlorine level. A small robot, then, independently takes care of periodic cleaning.
A terrace between earth and sky
Dreer-Graf GmbH had proposed to the customers different models for paving the external environment, entirely in HI-MACS® and here supplied by Klöpfer Surfaces. The choice fell on an atypical circle motif, with a retro look. The pattern, repeated over the entire surface, was obtained by milling the material.
In HI-MACS® they are also the edge of the pool and its steps.
A natural stone staircase leads onto the lawn, entirely enclosed by a glass partition that does not impede the view of the landscape.
Curious element is the small bar with refrigerator, hidden in a linear solid surface that almost hides in the surrounding space.
Relax en plein air
Everything in the outdoor of this house is designed to give life to intense moments of relaxation. The swimming pool, the shower (in HI-MACS®) and the Living Divani furniture create an oasis of well-being and conviviality. Worthy of note, the impressive solid surface table of 4 meters long. Its futuristic appearance has been made possible by the characteristics of HI-MACS®, which is not only thermoformable in any shape, but can be worked in such a way as to eliminate signs of junction to the eye; in this way one gets the impression that the table is sculpted in a single block of matter.
Lastly, this adds the great resistance of the material to time, water, UV rays, shocks and bad weather.
In HI-MACS® it is also the cylindrical structure of the hearth, and completes the space a relaxation platform of 3,40 x 4,40 meters, with large cushions on solid surface structure and tables of the same material.
An interior ... facing the outside
Design, natural light, open spaces: these are the three bases around which the interiors of the house have been designed, airy and incredibly bright.
Neutral colors predominate in the living area, which do not take the role of protagonist from the panorama. From three sides of the large room (about 120 square meters), in fact, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake, framed by the frames and imposing structural columns, in steel covered in lacquered wood. In the center, on a large black carpet, a large Living Divani sofa in white leather can be used on every side, to enjoy from one side of the view and on the other side of the large TV or the bioethanol fireplace, working remotely.
HI-MACS® has also been used in the less obvious points: an example is the circular ventilation grids, or the compartments obtained for the stationing of the integrated loudspeakers, of the lighting system and for the inspection ducts, all shaped in a very precise way. "Until now, perfect contours like these were only obtained with extremely complex processes" confides Dreer, who has developed a special technology for solid surface processing for the occasion.
The dining area and the kitchenette
A comfortable dining area with kitchenette overlooks the upper floor of the villa. The solid surface table top is placed on a sculptured structure in black lacquered stainless steel and is surrounded by Living Divani armchairs.
The open space kitchen
The kitchen, composed of a geometric island in front of a cabinet on several heights, is entirely made of HI-MACS® Alpine White and is perfectly integrated into the living area. Every detail of the kitchen aims to preserve its simple appearance: the doors without handles with electric servo-drive opening, the hood integrated in the hob and with coplanar control panel in stainless steel, or the sink integrated into the hob without thicknesses or joints extremely simple to clean.
Even the appliances, including oven and refrigerator, are completely hidden in the structure.
HI-MACS® is particularly recommended for direct contact with food, because it does not alter its characteristics. In addition, its pore-free surface prevents dirt and bacteria from nesting, facilitating daily cleaning operations.
A contrasting corridor
The ground floor passageway is distinguished from the rest of the house by its dark smoked oak parquet, which contrasts with the surrounding white and bright colors of the works of art on display. On it there are doors flush to the guest room, the walk-in closet, the fitness room, the master bedroom, the master bathroom and the elevator.
The perfect material for the bathroom too
HI-MACS® is also the protagonist of the bathrooms.
In the guest bathroom, in solid surface, the sink with reclined and throat drain and the relative piece of furniture, with nickel-plated handles that recall the other accessories. In the master bathroom, instead, HI-MACS® was used for the creation of the large washbasin, 1,90 meter, and the spacious shower cabin overlooking Lake Garda. Even the floor, walls and ceiling are in solid surfaces, joined without visible joints to emphasize the sense of continuity and limit the accumulation of dirt.
And then, finally, in bed
The master bedroom, also with Living Divani furniture, is separated with sliding doors from the bathroom, walk-in closet and fitness room.
The highlight of the sleeping area project is the immense sliding wall in HI-MACS® that separates the master bedroom from the outside, with irregular grids (2,5 meters wide) that recall the asymmetrical surfaces of the stone walls of the building.
The result is undoubtedly elegant and surprising. A mix of elegance, light and precision ... but above all respect, towards the landscape of one of the most poetic and beautiful places in Italy.
Design and realization: Campanardi DESANTI carried out the planning in coordination with the company Dreer-Graf GmbH.
