As part of the M'Afrique project ”, Patrizia Moroso (artistic director of the homonymous brand) has proposed to some artists (designers, architects, photographers) to convey the strength and beauty of Africa in their works. The designers Patricia Urquiola, Tord Boontje and Birsel & Seck lent themselves to the game, creating a collection of outdoor furniture that derives from the creative language and culture of Africa. The result is mind-blowing: this collection is exuberant, full of humanity, baroque, colorful and full of life. A delight for the eyes and an invitation to travel… M'Afrique is a perfect synthesis of tradition and modernity: each piece in the collection is handcrafted by local artisans from a Senegalese atelier created by Moroso. The weaving technique used is traditionally used in Africa to make fishing nets. A remarkable craftsmanship that makes each M'Afrique creation a unique piece. With this gigantic armchair as enveloping as a hammock, the designers Ayse Birsel & Bibi Seck offer us a poetic and eccentric interpretation of Africa. A real cocoon with pleasant and soft shapes, Madame Dakar will offer a moment of absolute relaxation to one or two people. With its large dimensions (W 179 cm x D 120 cm), Madame Dakar allows you to sit and move in complete freedom: reading while seated, watching television while lying down, dreaming sprawled ... All the positions you can invent! The idea of comfort evoked is the very protective one of the mother's womb. The ethnic motifs with hyper-vitamin colors are obtained by hand weaving countless multicolored plastic threads on a steel structure. This ultra-original shaped armchair is a mystical object that belongs to both the past and the present. A creation that transmits both tradition and modernity, innovation and history, form and beauty. It is used both indoors and outdoors. "
