Ferruccio Laviani

Ferruccio Laviani is an artistic director and works with some accredited companies such as Dada and Molteni & C. Born in Cremona in 1960, he studied at the International Professional Institute for Luthier and Wood Crafts in his city and graduated in 1978. Later he attended the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic and graduated in 1986 after attending courses held by Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso.

Ferruccio Laviani is an artistic director and works with some accredited companies such as Dada and Molteni & C. Born in Cremona in 1960, he studied at the International Professional Institute for Luthier and Wood Crafts in his city and graduated in 1978. Later he attended the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic and graduated in 1986 after attending courses held by Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso.

In 1983, he started working at Studio De Lucchi, becoming a partner in 1986 and leaving the company in 1991 to open his own studio in Milan.

Today he works as an architect in the interior design, art and graphic direction sectors. He has been artistic director of Kartell since 1991 and has held this position for various other companies, including Emmemobili, Moroso, De Padova, Foscarini and Flos.

Ferruccio Laviani mainly designs commercial spaces, but also offices and residential housing, for private clients and famous brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Renault, Piper, Missoni, Swarovski, La Rinascente, Citroen, Zara and Samsung.
With his vast experience as a designer, he is often invited to speak in universities, fairs and institutions that promote culture and design; a particularly significant commitment in 2018 was the invitation to lecture at Tongji University's College of Design and Innovation in Shanghai.
