Ferruccio Laviani

Ferruccio Laviani is an artistic director and works with some accredited companies such as Dada and Molteni & C. Born in Cremona in 1960, he studied at the International Professional Institute for Lute Work and Wood Crafts in his city and graduated from the 1978. Later he attended the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan and graduated in 1986 after attending the courses taught by Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso.

In 1983, he started working at Studio De Lucchi, becoming a partner in 1986 and leaving the company in 1991 to open his own studio in Milan.

Today he works as an architect in the field of interior design, artistic direction and graphics. He is the artistic director of Kartell from the 1991 and has held this position for various other companies, including Emmemobili, Moroso, De Padova, Foscarini and Flos.

Ferruccio Laviani mainly designs commercial spaces, but also offices and residential housing, for private customers and famous brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Renault, Piper, Missoni, Swarovski, La Rinascente, Citroen, Zara and Samsung.
With his vast experience as a designer, he is often invited to speak at universities, fairs and institutions that promote culture and design; a particularly significant commitment in the 2018 was the invitation to lecture at the College of Design and Innovation of Tongji University in Shanghai.
