Among the novelties that Foscarini will present on various occasions during Design Week 2014 we present a preview of two lamps, SPOKES designed by Vicente Garcia Jimenez and Cinzia Cumini and PYLON born from the collaboration between Foscarini and Diesel.

SPOKES

The new suspension of Vicente Garcia Jimenez and Cinzia Cumini presented by Foscarini at the Milan Design Week 2014 is inspired by the suggestions derived from ancient oriental lanterns to the more domestic aviaries.

The realization comes from the observation of the spokes of a bicycle wheel, from which the project is also called: Spokes, which in English means, precisely, rays. The result is a lamp with a soft shape and volume

light that contains the light, leaving the space filter.

The lightness that characterizes the design matches the shape of the table, made of metal rod, and the functionality of the LED light source, which allows it to fully illuminate the plan to get the play of light and shadows projected on the walls with a magical effect of multiplication.

The production process used - the bending of the metal rod - is suggested by the shape of the lamp itself, which also provides a small housing to conceal the light source and an innovative solution to make the electric cable not visible.

The development of the project in two forms, two sizes and two colors different stresses its versatility, making Spokes particularly suitable both for living spaces than for public, finding the perfect placement even in large architectural volumes, due to the possibility of multiple compositions.

PYLON

An industrial charm and contemporary features the latest addition to the collection Diesel with Foscarini Living.

Pylon, designed by Diesel Creative Team and transformed into reality by the know-how of Foscarini, takes its name from pylons of light to which the solid body and architectural iron is inspired. But the diffuser coupled flax that gives a unique flavor and unmistakable distinguishes the personality of this lamp.

Starting from the flat surface, folds and seams shape the fabric as a dress, transforming it into a three-dimensional element-looking solid and robust, as an industrial filter or an element of a turbine. The diffuser in linen coupled, rests on a metal structure, like a garment that enriches the simple rough central body.

Available in hanging or floor - the latter converts into a reading lamp with the ability to adjust the height - Pylon is characterized by a very soft light effect, which fits well both in domestic settings (a living room or bedroom bed) in contexts that contract, proving perfect for the common spaces, in the lobby of a hotel, in restaurants or local.
