Description

Maurizio Cattelan, an established figure in the contemporary art scene, and the photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari have designed a unique collection for Seletti, a la fois provocateur, at the same time provocative, absurd, fun ... Plates, mugs, tablecloths and soaps from this collection are decorated from surrealist images taken from Toilet Paper magazine, founded in 2010 by two Italian artists. Severed fingers with perfect manicure, bitten soap, fish stuffed with precious stones, canary with a cut wing ... Toilet Paper's dreamlike and black humor motifs are inspired by fashion, advertising, combining commercial photography, disturbing visual narratives and surrealist imagery . Toilet Paper refers to our contemporary obsession with images, exploring our most absurd desires and impulses. The different elements of the Toilet Paper collection are different portraits that capture, mix disturbing normality and ambiguity, in which the feeling of disturbance is combined with a visual pleasure. These are real works of art! Despite having affordable prices and wide distribution, the Toilet Paper collection questions the nature and limits of the contemporary art market. A question that has always been at the center of Maurizio Cattelan's work. This oilcloth tablecloth measures: 210 x 140 cm. It can be cleaned with a damp sponge.
