Description

An icon of industrial design for almost a century, the Tolix H stool has crossed eras and styles to become a classic inscribed in the collective memory, a "living heritage" that illustrates the French art of living ... Embodiment of the modern style of the 30s- 50, the H stool stood out for its solidity and great lightness. Stackable, it perfectly meets the needs of space rationalization. His refined aesthetics and great functionality introduced him to a prestigious and successful career. Present in numerous café terraces before entering the private sphere of the 50s. Symbolic and democratic, Tolix furniture marks a significant stage in the history of design. All the credit goes to its designer Xavier Pauchard who used stamped sheet metal and zinc for the first time to produce mass-produced furniture. Today, the company has acquired high-performance digital machines that accompany many manual operations and tooling inherited from history. Each stool that leaves the atelier is unique and bears the Tolix signature stamped into the metal. It is with genuine recognition that Tolix received in 2006 the label of “Company of the living heritage” conferred by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry. In raw sheet steel with glossy transparent paint, this high stool (H 75 cm) is not galvanized and therefore cannot be used outdoors. Also available in powder-coated stainless steel. In this version with clear varnish, the welding points are deliberately visible in order to communicate an artisan idea and highlight the raw aesthetic of the product. Indoor only - Stackable up to 8 stools - Handle on the seat
