Description

Since 1934, the A chair by Tolix has crossed eras and styles to become a classic inscribed in the collective memory, a "living heritage" that illustrates the French art of living ... Since 2004, Chantal Andriot has brought a young style to the brand and imagines in 2009 the AA chair, a magnificent perforated variation of the A chair. Icon of industrial design for almost a century, the Tolix chair is part of the collections of the Vitra Design Museum, MoMA and Center Pompidou. Incarnation of the modern style of the 30-50s, this chair has stood out for its solidity and great lightness. Stackable, it perfectly meets the needs of space rationalization. Its refined aesthetics and its great functionality make her discover a prestigious and successful career: on board the Normandie ocean liner in 1935, the Tolix chair also populates the spaces of the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques in 1937 and many coffee shops at the opened, before entering the private sphere of the 50s. Symbolic and democratic, the Tolix metal chair marks a significant step in the history of design. The Tolix chair becomes the first French industrial chair. Today, the company has acquired high-performance digital machines that accompany many manual operations and tooling inherited from history. Each chair that comes out of the atelier is unique and the Tolix signature is engraved in the metal. It is with genuine recognition that Tolix received in 2006 the label of “Company of the living heritage” conferred by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry. In powder-coated stainless steel sheet, the AA chair comes in a wide range of bright colors! Also available in painted raw steel. Indoor only - Stackable - Up to 8 chairs
