The Italian designer Fabio Novembre loves to create objects inspired by architecture. Its “Trullo” boxes reproduce the particular shape of the traditional houses found in the Italian village of Alberobello, in Puglia. Built with dry stone, these circular houses called “Trulli” have a cone-shaped roof whose top is decorated with ornaments. They are symbols of rural Italy. Fabio Novembre about his project: "Alberobello is very close to my hometown, here the houses have a cone-shaped roof, like a magician's hat, and they too are magical houses, because they are made only of overlapping stones , without binders. Because? Because their main characteristic, originally, was their temporary character, just as life is: temporary. The impression they give is that by removing the roof hat they can reveal hidden secrets. " The collection of Trullo boxes is centered on memory and the collective imagination: these small-scale architectures contain fragments of the past, are loaded with enigmas and aesthetic suggestions.
