Console 55 / Without brilliant crude steel tray design Jean Pauchard for Tolix

Incarnation of the modern style of the years 30-50, 55 steel table presents at the same time great solidity and lightness.

Icon of industrial aesthetics since 1955, the Tolix "55" table has crossed the ages and styles to become a classic inscribed in the collective memory, a "living heritage" that illustrates the French art of living. Embodiment of the modern style of the 30-50s, this steel table presents great solidity and lightness at the same time. Today, the “55” collection offers a console that maintains the same characteristics of the model that inspired it: tapered and conical legs give lightness and finesse to the shape. Tolix metal furniture marks a significant milestone in the history of design and the credit is due to the designer Xavier Pauchard who for the first time uses a stamped sheet metal and zinc for the production of mass-produced furniture. Today, the company has equipped itself with ultra-performing digital equipment that accompanies various manual operations and tools inherited from history. Each table that comes from the workshops is therefore unique and bears the Tolix signature engraved in the metal. With merit, in 2006 Tolix received the “Living Heritage Company” award, issued by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry. 100% French production
