For the ninth consecutive year, the Rio + Design will take part in the Milan Design Week. Em2Design, Bench Ratoeira

Two products that embody the concepts of lightness and comfort

Two choices produced by the Rio + Design to compose the exhibition are born from the concept of lightness and comfort characteristic of hammocks, an accessory for the house widely used in Brazil. The work of Fernando Jaeger will be represented by Tabuleiro table. With a central base that escapes to the conventional design to mix light wood with steel fittings, the furniture has three versions: round, square and rectangular. The Fantastico Design Studio, by Leo and Fernanda Mangiavacchi, will propose the Lina armchair - a corten steel variant, inspired by the Bauhaus style, but with a Brazilian touch. The tubular wooden structure with metal connections is wrapped in a “sheet of canvas” which supports the upholstered seat and back. The result is a solid, comfortable and visually light piece of furniture.

Ivan Rezende exposure leads its line of Construção tables using materials used in daily life by the popular buildings in Brazil. The metal base with black enamel paint is combined with bearing surfaces that can be realized with firebrick, "cobogó" in concrete (typical of Brazilian concrete blocks) or in solid wood from sustainable management.
