Pianca, the Italian brand of home and contract furnishing accessories and solutions, has chosen the ICFF week in New York as the stage for the overseas presentation of the latest novelties, previewed in April at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile from Milan.

It was with an opening party in Chelsea that Pianca presented the new pieces of its collection, the result of important collaborations that enrich the already numerous collaborations with international designers. These are the Confluence table, designed by the Belgian Xavier Lust and the Cora and Intro seating collection designed by Odo Fioravanti.

On the occasion of the 26th edition of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, the international furniture fair in New York, the location became the set of an installation for the American debut of Cora, Intro and Confluence, the novelties by Pianca.

The location chosen by the company was a creative space in Chelsea, the beating heart of the most innovative and design-oriented Manhattan. The opening party, on May 16, was an opportunity for Pianca to present to the press, stakeholders and guests present the result of a work that this year, as never before, has focused on project innovation. and the research of materials.

Table CONFLUENCE

Design Xavier Lust

Collaboration between Pianca and the Belgian designer Xavier Lust takes shape Confluence, the new table with laminated soft touch and steel structure.
The trial on the metal, which has always characterized the work of Lust, meets the experience of Pianca in woodworking thereby creating an elegant and organic. The steel structure is in its sinuous curves and at the same time dynamic, giving the idea of having maintained the consistency of the malleable deformation process to which the material has been subjected.
With a fluid motion steel legs converge, holding the floor that seems to levitate. The multiple finishes allow the tables, rectangular, round and elliptical to adapt to different styles.

CORA

design ODO FIORAVANTI

The chair Cora represents the final result of a research on the aesthetics of different materials, such as wood, plastic and metal, and an effort to make them coexist in a simple object as a session. Wood, for the strength of the seat, the plastic for a back elastic and snug, the metal legs that have maintained a visual lightness. A complex work done in close contact with the technicians of the molding to draw connections and hugs between materials that were together beautiful and respectful of the rules of resistance. With a result that is an instant classic.

Intro

INTRO

design ODO FIORAVANTI

Intro The chair is distinguished by its particular form, characterized by the two loops that create relief on the back a cintura. Intro stands for "introverted", just because this form reminds a person of shyness keeps his arms crossed behind his back. Its characteristic three-dimensional agreed to have a backrest of even more generous dimensions of the seat and to convey to the viewer looks inviting. And as a plus, the three-dimensionality has made it possible to draw the metal structures that support the body in order to make stackable chair.
