The new Saturn handle by Manital designed by Mario Mazzer and Giovanni Crosera is among the winners of the Good Design 2015 "Hardware" in the category.
The purpose of Good Design, since its foundation in 1950, is to highlight the best results obtained by designers and professionals from all over the world. Manital, at her second Good Design, she is particularly proud to have achieved it with Saturn, because it is a new concept of handle.
Saturn stands out immediately for important measures of the rosette: 180 mm wide and 152 mm high and composed of two discs, one external, from which a small semicircle extension develops to which the handle is applied and an internal one, with a diameter of 103 mm, which makes it unique. In fact, the internal disc, in addition to being available in various finishes and coatings, can be customized through the laser engraving of a phrase, a logo, a brand. Saturn is therefore a characterizing element of the door that, for the possibility of being custom, It can be appreciated in both residential either in the contract.
The internal disc can be easily replaced and purchased individually, thus becoming an element that can be renewed over time.
Today the company offers the system in the following variants: external disc and handle in Chrome, Satin Chrome and Anthracite finishes; internal disc in chrome, satin chrome, satin copper finishes, covered in leather or engraved on request.
The award Good Design, now in its XNUMXth edition, it was established by the architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgard Kaufmann. It is organized by "The Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design" and “European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies”.
