The brand new collection of Seletti upholstered furniture makes its debut in Paris, at the September 2017 edition of Maison et Objet, the fair par excellence dedicated to decoration.
Seletti debuts this year in the world of padding with significant new features in sofas and armchairs: a steady growth for the brand, which aims to become an increasingly interesting landmark in furniture. Paris is thus an opportunity to present the irriring chairs of the catalog Seletti wears TOILETPAPER; the soft Comfy line designed by Marcantonio with sofa and armchair; the surreal Hot Dog Sofa and Burger Chair of Studio Job's UN_LIMITED EDITIONS collection.
COMFY, sofa and armchair - Design: Marcantonio
Comfy is a collection of upholsters made in collaboration with Marcantonio. A hymn to comfort, a soft pillow nest in the sofa and armchair versions.
“I tried to create an ideal subject. I remember that as a child I used to play by building a hiding place in the sofa using parts of the backrest and seats. It is a desire we all have, to be welcomed in a soft nest where the cushions can be placed however we want ”, says the designer.
Brass metal feet add a touch of touch to the products, available in three color variants, on turquoise, white and anthracite tones. The Comfy cushions are made of different fabrics, whose motifs give rise to an attractive color movement of the surfaces.
UN_LIMITED EDITIONS - Design: Studio Job
UN_LIMITED EDITIONS combines the exclusivity of the artistic imagination of Studio Job and the democratic soul of Seletti. The collection includes the Hot Dog Sofa and the Burger Chair, along with the reinterpretation of two lamps that in their limited version have become one of the symbols of creativity by Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, Tiffany Tree Lamp and Banana Lamp.
The Hot Dog and the Hamburger, iconic images of pop American culture, are transformed into real furnishings, creating the "Fast Food Furniture" collection. The famous Banana Lamp and Tiffany Tree Lamp transform into something equally precious in terms of design but at the same time democratically accessible to a wider audience.
Seletti wears TOILETPAPER - the armchairs
The line created in collaboration with TOILETPAPER, an editorial project by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, is the emblem of how design and art can come together, giving rise to an original and over the top imagery. The first product in the world of upholstered furniture is added to the rich catalog of objects; the new armchairs evoke the traditional '50s chairs with sinuous shapes and brass feet, which are however distorted by a covering of surreal images: a cat immersed in pills (Cat), a pour of spaghetti with tomato sauce (Spaghetti), studded flowers (Flowers with Holes), male hands holding lipsticks (Lipsticks), crawling snakes (Snakes).
Other new entry in the collection are: the bedding set - consisting of duvet covers and two cotton pillow cases - presented in Graphics with Flowers, Hats, Lipsticks, Snakes and Spaghetti; new porcelain plates embellished with a golden border with the images of Spades, Spaghetti, Snakes and Flowers with Holes; the rugs in the Snakes and Flowers with Holes versions.
