FLOAT: the sofa that floats among the canals of Venice, project by Massimo Iosa Ghini for Felis at FuoriSalone 2023 it has been modified: 2023-04-06 di Benedetto Fiori

Massimo Iosa Ghini presents his new project, the FLOAT modular sofa for the Felis company, during the FuoriSalone di Interni event at the Statale di Milano, which will be held from 17 to 23 April 2023.

With the design of the FLOAT sofa, the Italian architect puts human well-being at the centre, creating a product that responds to the needs of a renewed domestic harmony. The sofa stands out for its soft, sinuous and organic lines, which allow you to live in domestic spaces in harmony with nature.

The FLOAT sofa project was born from Massimo Iosa Ghini's idea of creating a product that was able to represent a new normality, based on the warmth of hospitality and the rediscovery of the rhythms of "slow living". In fact, the Italian designer wanted to give the sofa a biomorphic shape, which is inspired by the curve, a natural shape capable of opening a dialogue between lightness, softness and volumes.

The FLOAT collection also offers a modular version, made up of different elements such as chaise longues and corner elements, which allow you to create your own customized comfort project.

The FLOAT sofa stands out for its fluidity, which is reflected in the contemporary lines of the product, as well as in the refined bending of its folds. The effect is that of an undulating movement, which recalls the comings and goings of the sea waves.

The philosophy of wellness design is at the heart of the FLOAT project, with the aim of creating a domestic space where individual well-being prevails. Informal comfort therefore becomes the fulcrum of the project, through a rediscovered naturalness inspired by biophilia.

The FLOAT sofa will be presented within the installation "L'Oasi Microarchitettura", designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini in the main courtyard of the University of Milan. The installation is part of the “design re-evolution” exhibition event, organized by INTERNI magazine from 17 to 26 April, and represents an opportunity to discover the new trends in contemporary design.
