Discovolante is Rexa's floor-standing washbasin, designed by Monica Graffeo, which won the coveted Archiproducts Design Award 2022.
After evaluating more than 750 applications from all over the world, the jury, made up of leading figures in architecture and design, has decreed the winners of the seventh edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards. These were unveiled in an evening tribute to design excellence, held on November 23rd in the historic Visconti Pavilion in via Tortona 58 in Milan. An event attended by over 1000 guests including architects, designers and brands, but also journalists, influencers and art directors from all over the world, gathered to discover the 2022 Winners.
The winning works, divided into product categories, stood out for their unique concept and for their ability to represent the excellence of creativity, technology and research.
"Discovolante was born from the desire to create an object of essential charm and discreet practicality with just a few strokes”says Monica Graffeo, designer of the product awarded in the “Bathroom” category. The two elements that compose it, the washbasin and the countertop, thanks to the soft and rounded shapes, give life to a balanced and harmonic relationship that defines a linear and timeless design.
Even the choice of materials is designed to enhance the relationship between the elements: the sink in Corian® Glacier White or Deep Nocturne can be coordinated with a top in the same material in Ash Aggregate or Carbon Aggregate, in Carrara or Nero Marquinia marble or in glass Bronze or Gray which, in contrast, characterize the object of elegant refinement.
A dedicated accessory is the towel hanger which adds a functional note to the scenographic element.
