Starhotels Echo. Bologna will rise in front of the Fico Eataly World agri-food park in Bologna.
The design of the structure and interiors was entrusted to the Iosa Ghini Associati architecture studio. The facility will have the Starhotels brand, which has signed an agreement between the PAI-Parchi Agroalimentari Italiani fund, set up and managed by Prelios SGR. The delivery of the property is expected at the beginning of the second half of 2020.
The new Hotel is a 4-Star Superior that will be born from the structural and functional recovery of the former Floricultural Market of Bologna.
With a view to eco-sustainability and zero consumption of the territory, the property will not be demolished but regenerated according to the needs also linked to changes in the intended use of the building that will turn from commercial to tourist accommodation. "We worked on maintaining as much of the structures as possible that could be recovered." - says Iosa Ghini - “To transform an essentially industrial space into a hotel, we have created a series of 'islands' within this large space of twelve thousand square meters. There will be internal areas, glazed courtyards, from which the light will enter in a homogeneous way and which will overlook rooms of different sizes ".
The structure will occupy a total area of about 11.000 square meters and will house about 200 rooms: in particular the new function stands out for the inclusion of "amenities" for entertainment such as garden and swimming pool in the outdoor area while in the internal area service, meeting and conference rooms, breakfast area and cafeteria, reception, offices, three swimming pools, fitness center and spa.
The whole is characterized by the “green touch” that distinguishes the entire project, and which Starhotels has embraced since eco-sustainability is a very important value of the Group.
"We have been very careful about the use of materials and technologies." - continues Iosa Ghini - “We have planned to make great use of wood, we will use certified ecological materials. From the point of view of technologies, the hotel stands next to a photovoltaic field, and we have designed an extremely 'virtuous' geothermal system for air conditioning and hot water ".
