m12 AD, after its debut at Fuorisalone 2016, presents “Timo”, a collection of interior and lighting design inspired by the colors and scents of the land of Puglia, the birthplace of designer Michelangelo Olivieri.
Elegant and sober nuances, applied to a pure design, made with craftsmanship. Stools, chairs, armchairs, chaise longue and a lamp, with essential, elegant and functional lines. Minimal shapes and attention to every detail in a creative mix that contrasts light and dark, cold and warm, light and consistent. Essential materials such as solid wood and enameled metal come together in a collection that symbolizes the roots of each of us that evolve and mature adapting to everyday life, in a versatile and contemporary design.
“This collection has been in my head for a long time, ever since I lived in Venice. Every time I returned to Puglia, I felt the physical need to take refuge in the Murge to breathe its atmosphere, unique in the world. I simply transferred everything that my eyes captured onto paper, together with the sensations that these wastelands, Zen, managed and are able to transmit to me: simplicity and inner balance, two key elements that we find in the “Timo” collection. Each piece is in fact in constant equilibrium: from the spring-loaded lamp that always returns to its original position, to the seats: two legs on which a metal plate rests, placed in a precise point that allows maximum flexibility and prevents the collapse of the material, ”says Michelangelo Olivieri.
The collection is perfectly suited to indoor and outdoor environments. In fact, for the outdoors, “Timo” has teak wood finishes and a galvanizing treatment for the metal, for excellent resistance to external agents.
“Timo” is a substantial and vigorous project, which in its simplicity transposes the light that surrounds Puglia into everyday life.
