Roberto Giacomucci The small designers curated by Marco Ferreri TRIENNALE MILANO_17 / April 22 2012 "Create a 'small things design' does not mean to create a 'small design', but a unanimous design, easily understandable and usable. "So the architect explains why an exhibition. "Some people at some point in life needs to start to find himself. And part perl'India as quips flawless Sean Penn This must be the place. I, who I am and I find myself everywhere I turn, I decided to put together my history as a designer, and to do it with this exhibition.

"Starting from some sketches and notes written down in a notebook, was born the idea of telling the experiments, the threads of a difficult process as stimulating as is the design. More than an anthology of objects, this exhibition aims to narrate the attempts, errors, surprise, disappointment and satisfaction one experiences by creating and trying to make the world something that was missing.

They are some small steps that allow you to develop a thought, to have the visions without which you can not change. The exhibition begins with a cornerstone of design: simplicity, it understood as the simple essence, immediacy and synthesis, as a reference design for a design that does not need names, but of thought. The planning has an empirical approach. It is created because, living situations, you will discover the deficiencies, and the challenge is to find the most logical way to respond to them. The real objects, standards, not those exceptional, universal objects not extraordinary ones are those that capture the interest and inspire creativity.

Common objects, discrete and essential that there always have become a battlefield: Giacomucci loves rethink them, dismantle them to give him new output without distorting them or deprive them of that discretion and purity that is part of their DNA. Beautiful they already are, because icons in its essentiality imagery, as well as find enchantment in the children of anonymous design, perfected over time, it gradually improved from the millions of hands that have been in contact with them. In short, not a succubus of fashion design, but which responds freely to the official canons, not to please nor seek legitimacy in any temporary trend. The end of time will no pictures or suggestions, but the memory of something that can, even in the small, to revolutionize everyday actions. The invitation is then to enter this laboratory, a place for creation of open and attentive to the new to the old, a space, through which pass energy, stimulation, comparisons.
