A place for alternative hair stylists, who focus on originality, color and the whimsy of cuts, this is "Alternative Hair Lab" (www.alternativehairlab.com). An upper floor with wifi, table football and the possibility of projecting films, makes this place a space dedicated above all to a young audience who not only wants to have a crazy haircut but also wants to have fun and always be online.
For this project, the choice was to create a vintage, colorful and cheeky atmosphere. Ecocentric, which makes recycling its philosophy, focuses for this setting on vintage furnishings and objects that symbolize a recent, glorious past. Modern antiques are a great resource that, through upcycling, can make an environment unique in its kind and absolutely personalized in terms of color and shape. Vintage furniture and objects, such as old traffic lights, 70s telephones, barber chairs, beer bar barrels, old LPs and audio cassettes are found, chosen one by one and meticulously positioned to create finishes, as well as furnishing objects. The discs and cassettes color the walls rising from heaven to earth and become the main motif of decoration. Some walls are treated with newspaper paper alternating “glued words” to be read together with simple magazines and comic books that customers will soon find available. A Mini old, recovered from scrapping, also comes back to life, transformed into the main furnishings of this space.
By dividing the pretty scrap, a two-seater sofa and a cash desk were created. The stacked and finished beer barrels have become brush holders.
Each original color and finish has been maintained, including signs of wear, imprinted on every surface, from aluminum to vinyl, to raw sheet metal, as if to enhance the authenticity of each object and the lifestyle of the era that today it is cult.
