Fly chair, winner of Promosedia International 2010, is a project by Domenico Orefice and Michela Benaglia, is inspired by an insect, with a hard bone structure and a softer "muscle" part. It is a chair that wants to combine craftsmanship tradition and new technological wooden materials.
The ergonomics is given by the respect for the anatomy and proportions of the human body is accompanied by a remarkable lightness of the wood which gives the object elegance and sobriety, in the context of a general harmony. The basic structure is made up of a single wooden element, capable of supporting the back with correct lumbar support. The added value is obtained through the sophisticated research of additional wooden materials, identifiable in the union between the flexible wood veneer sheet and the foam, with a soft touch result.
