At the end of 2010, the London designer Andy Martin It was contacted by THONET to design and develop a bike using their steam bending process developed in 1930. Andy Martin has developed three projects among which was selected as the final one you see in the pictures.

"The challenge was to keep the low-tech technology of steam bending and apply it to a 21st century bicycle with very complex engineering."

Andy Martin has also developed a series of connectors and spring bars to strengthen the joints and areas of major stress in the frame. The bicycle has no brakes and different gear ratios interchangeable. The seat is made of solid beech wood attached to a spring support.
The wheels are not designed by Andy and are made of carbon fiber HED H3.
