The wallpapers from the Addiction collection were recently among the protagonists of the Sambonet stand at the latest edition of Maison et Objet, designed by Vito Nesta for Texturae.
We could call them the memory cards; this is how the memory of the places of living makes the designer retrace the steps of Pop Art, applying its principles to everyday objects in the context of the function of the domestic space (paper with dishes in the kitchen, lipsticks in the bathroom; robots in the children's room).
Patterns are everywhere, you just have to train your eye to see them. You find them in a landscape, in the facades of a building, in a local market, in the texture of a sheet. In this case the patterns transform everyday objects and transport them into an amazing and surreal dimension.
Particular overlaps, a mix of colors that create designs in the drawings, style icons across the wall; the wallpaper collections overturn the concept of traditional wallpaper, transforming it from a simple background into a primary decorative element.
Vito Nesta interprets elements of everyday life, overturning their interpretation and giving objects a completely new personality.
“My ideas do not have a direct link with the POP artistic current, my work stems from my being a romantic dreamer, I take objects from childhood memories or that run in my mind and re-elaborate them, proposing them with a different function. Since they are the object of daily use, there is a reference to popular culture, therefore in that sense Pop. "
