There are five finalists that Monday September 15 compete online to win the title of winner of the first edition of MakeMore, the contest promoted by Veneta Cucine, in collaboration with MakeTank (www.maketank.it).

After the selection of the jury, the choice of the winning project passes to the users who, by connecting to the website www.make-more.it, will be able to book their favorite object, helping to make them reach the required budget by 15 November 2014. A reservation that will allow you to guarantee a preview copy of the product.

"The projects we received were over 80 and they proved to be very valid from a qualitative point of view" declares Daniela Archiutti, Art Director of Veneta Cucine. “For the jury it was a real challenge to identify those that best represented the union between new production techniques and artisan tradition, as indicated by the announcement of the competition. We are very satisfied with this first experience, which we consider an important step to establish a constant and constantly evolving dialogue with the world of young designers, architects and makers ".

An opinion shared in full by Laura De Benedetto, co-founder of MakeTank, adding: “The great commitment shown by Veneta Cucine in actively involving the Makers, giving them the opportunity to transform a project into a product, was a truly gratifying experience for MakeTank. Now the word goes to consumers: just book your favorite project to have the opportunity, not only to support an emerging designer, but also to secure a truly unique and exclusive object, perhaps for the next Christmas gifts ".

The 5 finalist projects, selected by the jury composed of Daniela Archiutti (Art Director Veneta Cucine), Andrea Branzi (architect and designer), Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda (architects), Laura De Benedetto (co-founder of MakeTank) and Eleonora Ricca ( designer and entrepreneur - Vectorealism), are a perfect synthesis of innovation and tradition.

PLANISFERA - Suspension lamp (Koal by design)

The project was born from the idea of ​​reconciling the traditional aesthetics of wicker with the new production technology of laser cutting. The result is a flat structure that takes on a three-dimensional dimension thanks to simple gravity and based on the functional or aesthetic needs chosen by the user. Planisphere is composed of two layers: a sheet of wood and a thin metal foil.

Koal design is a duo of Constance Giuffrida (Milan, 1987) and Alberto Gruarin (Pordenone, 1988), young designers graduate in Industrial Design at the Politecnico of Milan with a major in Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology. the idea behind the project is to create a table that is easy to assemble, without gluing or mechanical joints, and suitable for any type of home and furniture. Andrea Casati (Cantu, 1975) he graduated from the Faculty of Design of the Politecnico di Milano in 2001 and worked in various design and graphics studios before arriving in 2003 at Studio D'Urbino Lomazzi where he refined design skills and competences in the fields of furniture, furnishing accessories and products of design. Philip Mambretti (Como, 1981) student at the artistic high school of Cantù meets Bruno Munari who gives him a passion for planning and design. Mariano Spadaro (Barletta, 1986) he graduated in 2011 in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Bari. He collaborates with various studios in Bari and Florence, inspired by the great masters of architecture and design. After completing a Master in “Exhibit & Public Design” at the Faculty of Architecture in Rome, in 2003 he moved to Frankfurt where he embarked on a new adventure between culture, art and innovation.
