Together with EURES, the European service for professional mobility, the company is launching a call to assign young talents under 30 contributions for their first work experience abroad. The aim is to offer the opportunity to enrich your CV, at a time when youth unemployment has reached its all-time high. The call, open until October 31, 2012, can be consulted on the website www.mcz.it.

 MCZ Group, a company of excellence in the domestic heating and outdoor cooking sector, has chosen for the second consecutive year to allocate the budget traditionally destined for Christmas gifts to the “Job Creation” social responsibility initiative. Together with EURES, the service of the European Commission for professional mobility, has launched a competition to award 10 contributions to unemployed young people who intend to live their first work experience in Europe.

 THE OBJECTIVES

The project has the objective of promoting the growth and professional qualification of young people, favoring their practical use in an increasingly competitive and penalizing labor market. Only in Italy, in fact, has youth unemployment reached an all-time record of 36,2% (Istat data July 2012 for the 15-24 age group).

MCZ Group, which obtains over two thirds of its turnover from exports, believes that having worked abroad is a key element in enriching one's curriculum. However, sometimes it is precisely the economic difficulties that block young people from undertaking this type of experience. The grants - which amount to 2.500 euros each - will be an initial contribution to cover the first expenses, such as travel, rent, language courses or other, for work experiences of at least 4 months.

RECIPIENTS

Unemployed young people between 18 and 30 years old, resident in one of the 27 EU countries or in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein, with the following requirements can compete for the initiative:

  • are graduates or graduates;
  • have good command of English and / or the host language;
  • They have never done before work experience or internships abroad.

The EURES service will undertake to facilitate the meeting between companies and candidates by making its channels available.

The application for participation in the competition must be submitted by October 31 2012. The announcement and the application procedures can be found from the site www.mcz.it. For more information you can write to jobcreation@mcz.it.

ONE SUCH INITIATIVE IN ITALY

Since 2011 MCZ Group has embraced the philosophy of social responsibility and has chosen work as a key theme on which to intervene. In 2011 the company, in collaboration with Manpower, supported the reintegration of 60 unemployed people through vocational courses in four Italian cities and a free recruiting and consulting service.

 For 2012, MCZ raised the level of the initiative, giving it a greater international scope, and oriented itself towards one of the categories most affected by the crisis, the young.

 THE PRESIDENT JAMES ZANETTE

“We started from a basic idea”, explains President Giacomo Zanette. “Even in thriving businesses like ours, we believe it is not the time to invest in assets for their own sake. We are convinced - continues the President - that today more than ever it is important to choose to invest also to create social value. We were able to realize this project - he concludes - thanks to the contribution of our customers, who allow us year after year to be an active Group on the market. Job Creation is the best Christmas gift we can give them and all our employees ”.
