After two editions of Summer Schools, IZMO organized the first edition of the International Winter School of Turin (Italy) from January 16th to January 25th 2013, which focuses on interior design and creative reuse. The course is aimed at students, graduates, professionals, and, in general, anyone interested in the theme of ecological and creative design.
The lessons (in English) are held by experts and teachers of design and creative reuse of spaces, with the aim of providing a broader and more multidisciplinary look possible. In addition, students will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the methods of bio-architecture and interactive that will allow him or her to work creatively with waste materials and to approach the practices of participatory design.
The training offer will be further strengthened by a meeting with Controprogetto [Italy], UdA [Italy] and Truly Design [Italy], which as a special-guests will be able to show their projects and approaches to the theme. At the end of the lessons, participants effectively intervene on a licensed public bus, located in the Cecchi-Point courtyard: a multicultural hub of a neighborhood located in Turin, near the IZMO office.
Students will be able to design and renovate the bus, in order to create a new urban space: a playroom for the children of the neighborhood, who usually meet at the Cecchi point after school hours.
Each student will receive all the materials and work tools needed and will IZMO personal mentor at every stage of the project.
The participants of the Winter School will be assigned 4 credits, recognized by the Politecnico di Torino, transferable to any other university.
In addition, it will provide continued support in logistics, accommodation search, mobility and tourism.
