The 10 May 2016, Satyendra Pakhalé, a multifaceted figure on the international design scene and winner of numerous awards, will close the cycle Talks IED, events dedicated to the world of culture and the creative professions conceived and produced by the European Institute of Design in Rome.
To moderate it, Tiziana Proietti, Member of the study Satyendra Pakhalé Associates from 2013.
Pakhalé, designer and founder of the studio, based in Amsterdam, which bears his name, works for authoritative international design firms, such as Cappellini, Fiam, Novartis, Poltrona Frau and Tubes. His works are housed in the permanent collections of prestigious museums around the world including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
On the occasion of the IED Talks, Satyendra Pakhalé introduce his personal design interpretation, which he defines as "Sensorial Design." Through the production of prototypes and study models, Pakhalé accepts every day the challenge of solving complex problems concerning matter, form, and technology, always keeping in mind the goal of satisfying and at the same time going beyond the functionality of objects. The real purpose of his work is to create works that evoke and at the same time enhance the human senses. Pakhalé will share with the public his journey towards the creation of an innovative design: sensory objects based on the human experience of the artifact.
