Award for high quality design: Betacryl Tunnel is sealed Red Dot
The Red Dot jury made its decision. After all the products presented were individually tested and assessed during an evaluation process that lasted a few days, the TUNNEL Betacryl product designed by the architect Pierangelo Brandolisio and manufactured by Brandodesign received the Red Dot distinction. The group of experts assigns the internationally recognized quality seal only to high-quality design products.
Betacryl tunnel
A kennel for cats made with betacryl material, a model with essential lines, for lovers of minimal. Inside is a reinforced microfiber cushion or embroidered leather. The slots obtained with laser cutting are designed to give the cat the opportunity to observe the space around without being seen. The feline instinct is enhanced by the Knight support, made of stainless steel, inspired by the legs of the bird of the same name, which make the object slightly mobile and give the animal the sensation of having climbed on a tree.
Evaluation platform for good design
The Re Dot Award: product design has roots dating back to 1955 and determines the best products created each year. In 2018, designers and producers from 59 countries presented more than 6.300 objects to the competition. Faithful to the motto "looking for beautiful design and innovation", the jury composed of about 40 members individually assessed the originals of the products.
The rigorous evaluation criteria, such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability, have provided a framework of reference which the members of the jury have completed with their skills.
Three different distinctions were awarded: The Red Dot: Best of the Best is reserved for the best products in the category; Red Dot is a distinction of high quality design. While Honorable Mention is given to the best designs made.

Celebration to honor the winners
The winners will be awarded with the ceremony in Red Dot Gala the 9 July 2018, near the city of Essen, Germany.
The Red Dot: Best of the Best winners will receive their well-deserved trophies on the stage of the Aalto Opera theater in Essen during the awards ceremony.
At the next night of the designers in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, the Red Dot winners will receive their certificates and will be able to celebrate gold success in the middle of the award-winning products, so the celebration will become the introduction to the show. For a period of four weeks, the "Design on Stage - Winners Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018" special exhibition will represent the award-winning innovations as part of the world's largest contemporary design exhibition.
The day of Red Dot Gala coincides with publication of the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2018 / 2019 which showcases all the winning products. In addition, they can be found in the Online Show, in the Red Dot App and in Red Dot 21 from that date.
Brandodesign
Brandodesign, a spin-off of a study of Friulian architecture, creates furnishing objects dedicated to the Pet world.
Brandodesign was born in 2015 from a careful reflection of Architect Pierangelo Brandolisio who, in order to meet the needs of his American Akita, is passionate about the still unexplored world of pet design. Fascinated and sensitive to animals, more and more emotionally involved in the exchange between animal and man, the architect realizes innovative products for furniture, with specific characteristics for dogs and cats, where design blends with comfort, adapting to specific needs of our animals. Always linked to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, an ancient land rich in natural resources including precious woods, it transforms these into exclusive furnishing accessories. Red Dot Design Award
In order to evaluate diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Design award is divided into three categories: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. The Red Dot Award is one of the biggest design competitions in the world. In the 1955 the jury meets for the first time to evaluate the best designs of the day. In the 1990 years, the CEO of Red Dot, Professor Dr. Peter Zec, devised the name and brand of the award.
