Laboratory of Theoretical and practical 6 meetings during which you will build a CNC milling machine, assembling the various components of the tool.
The meetings will be held on Saturday, for six weeks, starting dall'8 March, at the facilities of Officine Creative (Cecchi Point, via Cecchi 21 / a, Turin). Each workshop, lasting 4 hours, consists of a theoretical introduction and a practical construction. For the laboratory does not need preliminary expertise.
Meeting 1 - Saturday March 8 2014 15 hours: 00 - 19: 00
Theory - CNC machines: a brief look at current technologies and introduction to the types of milling. The project Solidis: description of the laboratory.
Practical part - Construction of the Y axis of the tool. Fixed part and the sliding part.
Meeting 2 - Saturday March 15 2014 15 hours: 00 - 19: 00
Theory - Introduction to stepper motors, transfer rotational movement with screws and nuts.
Practical part - Construction of the mobile and fixed parts of the axes X and Z.
Meeting 3 - Saturday March 22 2014 15 hours: 00 - 19: 00
Theoretical part - Some types of cutters and their use for different processes.
Practical part - Construction of the main structure and electric hook-ups. Paint protection.
Meeting 4 - Saturday March 29 2014 15 hours: 00 - 19: 00
Theory - The brain of the router. Notes on the control and code G.
Practical part - Installation of electronics and test the correct operation of the tool axis.
Meeting 5 - Saturday April 5 2014 hours 15: 00 - 19: 00
Theory - Using software code generation G (BlenderCAM) and software control of the milling machine (LinuxCNC).
Practical part - Using software to produce pieces for this tool.
Meeting 6 - Saturday April 12 2014 hours 15: 00 - 19: 00
