Valentine's Day is just a few days away and among the desserts that we could recommend to surprise your partner, we have chosen a splendid chocolate plum cake with a sponge cake heart inside.

It seems difficult but it is not, just prepare two different doughs, one for the real plumcake, the other for the sponge cake from which we will get the hearts.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 eggs
  • 400gr granulated sugar
  • 350gr white flour
  • 10 tablespoons milk
  • 8 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 150gr of melted dark chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • red or pink food coloring to taste
  • Half baking vanilla cake
  • icing sugar to decorate

PREPARATION:

Pour 3 egg yolks into a bowl and mix them with 200 g of sugar, then add 175 g of sifted flour, 5 tablespoons of milk and 4 of oil. Now add the dye, just enough to get the color you want. Finally, beat the egg whites until stiff and add them to the mixture.

Grease and flour the pan, pour the dough and cook everything at 170 ° for 30 minutes.

When this is cooked, let cool, cut it into slices and each slice formed a heart with a stencil.

Now prepare another mixture as above by replacing the dye with cocoa and melted chocolate, plus add the baking powder.
Now put the hearts obtained from the first dough with the tip downwards making them adhere to each other in a pan for plumcake, then slowly pour the cocoa mixture on the sides of the hearts until the pan is filled and covered.

Bake at 180 30 ° C for minutes, let cool completely and decorate with icing sugar!
